The Lantern Prayer

From the mouth of ruin
Spare my voice

From the edge of rage
Anchor my will

Though they strap
The innocent
To their own flesh

Let me not kill the child
Within myself

Grant me Precision
Not vengeance

Restraint
Not cowardice

Witness
Not blindness

If I must fall
 Let me fall
Without becoming the fire
That consumes

If I must fight
 Let it be
With the armor of my soul
Still intact

May I return from the furnace
Not as ash
But as living proof that
Light endured

-Winquind-

For JK and so many.
