Apology

Image
To those I once stood beside. I don't come with explanations. I come carrying the weight of what I failed to protect. To the one who believed in me the most I let my guard fall when you needed me strong. I blurred the lines that were supposed to hold firm. To the one who stirred something deeper than I could govern I don’t regret our love, but I grieve the damage it left behind. To the brothers who trusted my hands, my word, my place among them, I broke the invisible bonds that made us more than men, And I know some wounds don’t close, not even with time. To the higher call I once lived by I lost the road for a while, Thinking feeling was enough to guide me where principle should have held. I’m not here asking for absolution. I'm not trying to rewrite history. I’m here because you deserve to hear it. I am sorry. Sorry for the fractures you had to carry because I couldn't carry my own. Resurrection Eve

Image
Evil loves its ironies JC's walk away from home Suffering sees its saviors Fall again to Rome Lift and take the parapet Breathe the wind and sun Overcome the viper pits Free the Chosen One Notice not the countenance Comes a maiden fair Led by holy legions None before compare Prior souls had burned her New Rhiannon only loves Fear no death’s relations In the glory of her doves You may have felt her rising In vibrations far below A whisper of returning In the Magdalana’s glow -Winquind-

The Fire

Image
The fire calls no company It burns because it must No one asks it why it glows Or how it guards the dust It dances slow without a name Its voice a crackling sigh Fleeting warmth and shifting shape Beneath a changless sky No stories beg to be confessed No promises are made The fire is a loyal guest Who leaves when night must fade It is not friend it is not foe It answers no one’s plea It lives alone within the flames And mirrors men like me We are not lost we are not found We do not ask for more We build our circle out of light We rest it on the floor So let the others chase the dawn Or speak of love and grace The fire and I will hold our post In each our rightful place -Winquind-

The Lantern Prayer

Image
From the mouth of ruin Spare my voice From the edge of rage  Anchor my will Though they strap  The innocent  To their own flesh Let me not kill the child Within myself Grant me Precision Not vengeance Restraint Not cowardice Witness Not blindness If I must fall  Let me fall  Without becoming the fire  That consumes  If I must fight  Let it be  With the armor of my soul Still intact May I return from the furnace  Not as ash But as living proof that  Light endured -Winquind- For JK and so many.
